Vallée du Chavanon
Joint
between Corrèze and Puy-de-Dome, the valley of Chavanon is of true
interest of a nature landscape, geological, ecological and botanical
(exceptional flora with mixture of mountain and Atlantic species).
Causse Corrézien
One
of the most original mediums of the department where the calcareous
rock levels by places, white and stripped, avid of surface water that
it absorbs by the pores and which is lost in the network of its
underground arteries to reappear in some resurgence. The Corrézien
Causse shelters a fauna and a flora of the méditérranéen type.

Cascades de Gimel
Un des plus beaux site naturels du département. Les cascades
sont composées de 3 chutes successives de la Montagne d'une
hauteur totale de 143 mètres : "Le Grand Saut" de 45
mètres, "La Redole" de 38 mètres et la "Queue de
Cheval"
de 60 mètres qui plonge dans le "gouffre de l'inferno".
Des itinéraires fléchés permettent de
découvrir le site des cascades dans l'enceinte du parc
aménagé par le peintre Gaston Vuillier entre 1893
et 1899.
Millevache - Monédières
Dominated by the Bessou Mount, the plate of Millevaches at the immense
horizons is covered with vast extended from fôrets and peat bogs where
hide solids houses of granite and remarkable small churches. As a
myriad of other rivers, Corrèze, Vézère, Vienna… occur on the Plate of
the “Miles sources”. More in the south, the monédières with the forms
harmoniously round overhang the plates around. Forest puy of
Juice-with-May, of Monédière or collar of the Giants offers a panorama
of moors of heathers, meadows, ponds and villages with the slate roofs.
With the country of great spaces, the excursions pedestrian,
equestrian, cyclo, VTT… are infinite.
Mont Bessou (977 m)
With 1001 meters of altitudes, turn observatory with point of view on the Mounts of the Cantal and Auvergne.
Tourbière du Longeyroux
Biological environment of European interest, located at 900 m of
altitude on the communes of Meymac, St Merd-les-Oussines and Chavanac.
It occupies a vast depression of 250 hectares, where the multitude of
the sources and ruisselets gave rise to Vézère. By its surface, the
diversity of its flora and its fauna and its landscapes strange, the
peat bog of Longeyroux is one of the natural florets of the Plate of
Millevaches. Two paths make it possible to discover this biological
environment.

Parc Naturel Régional Millevache en
Limousin
This 44ème park located in the middle of the Limousin area extends on
the departments from Corrèze, of Hollow and of High-Vienna and rayon on
more than 3.300 km ² .38 000 inhabitants live in 113 communes including
63 in Corrèze. Among the 7 landscape units of this vast plate, the
valleys of High Corrèze around Meymac and the Bessou Mount, climax of
the Limousin, the sources around Millevaches, the throats of Chavanon,
in the east and Monédières in South-west characterize the corrézienne
part park. On the Plate of Millevaches known as “of the thousand
sources”, water is the first natural richness with heaths, wetlands and
fôrets old of leafy trees. Here, peat bogs, brooks and rivers of the
basins of the Loire and the Dordogne shelter many remarkable species,
the such rossolis with round sheet (rotundifolia will drosera), the
écrevice with white leg, (Austro-patamobius pallipes) or the andromède
(Andromedia polifolia). Symbol of the territory, the otter affectionate
turn particularly clear water of the plate. Monumental crosses of ways
or crossroads, many bridges of medieval origin, well, fountains,
baker's oven and large-cattle sheds, without forgetting the vestiges
galloramains, testify to the activity and knowledge-making former
inhabitants of the plate. Ground of excursion par excellence, the Plate
of Millevaches offers a great diversity of routes pedestrian, VTT,
cyclo… and circuits with stupid ass or harnessed…..
